Meriam's Corner Commemorative Ceremony

Minute Man N.H.P., at the comer of Lexington Rd. and Old Bedford Rd.

Public ceremony marking the assembly and actions of militia and minutemen units that arrived at Meriam's Corner during the British Soldiers' retreat from Concord.

Saturday, April 9th, 3:00 pm

Paul Revere Commemorative Ceremony

Paul Revere Capture Site - Minute Man N.H.P. Rt. 2A in Lincoln

Minute Men march down the Battle Road trail to the Capture Site and a ceremony including fife and drum music, short commemorative speeches, a musket salute and a return march to the Minute Man Visitor Center.

National Heritage Museum Patriot's Day Events

Corner of Route 2A and Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington

"Revere's Ride and Longfellow's Legend" an exhibition examining artistic depictions of Paul Revere, a legendary symbol of American heroism and patriotism and the inspiration for Longfellow's best-known work, "Paul Revere's Ride".

Battle Road, The Prelude to War

18th Century Encampment of Militia and British Soldiers and colonial life at the Hartwell Tavern and Smith House, Minute Man N. H. P. on Rte. 2A in Lincoln. Activities include drill and musket firing demonstrations, cooking, life in the British Camp, 18th century surgical demonstrations, a town meeting and more!

Saturday and Sunday, April 16th & 17th, at 10:00, 1:00 & 3:00

Concord: The Revolutionary Town

Concord Museum guided walking tours of Concord - specially-designed walking tour takes you into the town that was witness to the beginnings of the American Revolution and the "shot heard round the world." Through the lives of saddler Reuben Brown and cabinetmaker Joseph Hosmer this walking tour brings to life the people and places of April 1775. $12.59 Adult, $9 Senior, $7.50 Child/Museum Member. Reservations requested; walk-ins on a space available basis.

 

"Henry Thoreau and the Two Revolutions"

Celebrate at Walden Pond with local historian Richard Smith as he portrays Henry David Thoreau. Learn, first hand, about the two historic revolutions in Concord: the Revolution of 1775 and the Literary Revolution. Meet at the House Replica next to the parking lots. Free program/Parking $5.

Patriot's Day Ball

Concord Armory, 33 Everett Street, Concord

Dancing to music by "The Colors", light refreshments, cash bar, the Colonial Fife and Drum Players and a midnight march into town to see the arrival of William Prescott warning of the British troops. $20 before April 15th, $25 thereafter. Tickets available at Town House, Concord's Colonial Inn, West Concord Pharmacy, West Concord 5 & 10.

Midnight Ride of Paul Revere

Witness Paul Revere's arrival at the Hancock-Clarke House sounding the alarm that the King's Regulars were on the road to Lexington and Concord. On Hancock Street near Battle Green, in Lexington.

Monday, April 18th, 5:30 am

Re-enactment of the Battle on Lexington Green in Lexington

Local British and American Revolutionary War re-enactors depict the skirmish that took place on Lexington Green early in the morning of April 19th. Witness the tensions mount as the King's Regulars are confronted by local Minute and Militia companies and the battle which ensues.

Commemoration of the Concord Conflict

North Bridge, Minute Man N.H.P.

British and colonial re-enactors, park rangers and volunteers bring the fateful morning of April 19, 1775 to life in this stirring commemoration of "the shot heard round the world".

Monday, April 18th, 9:00 am

Concord Patriot's Day Parade

The parade begins in Concord Center proceeds across the North Bridge and returns to Main Street. The streets around Concord center will be closed from 8:30 am until the parade's conclusion at 11:30 am-12:00 noon.

Monday, April 18th, 2 pm

Lexington Patriot's Day Parade

Parade begins in East Lexington and proceeds up Massachusetts Avenue and through the center of town to Lexington Green.

Monday, April 18th, 7:30-5pm

 

The Old Manse Patriot's Day Activities

Grounds are open free to the public to watch the parade. Refreshments available at the early morning sutler's tent. The house will be open for 18th century-themed guided tours 11 am - 5 pm, with the last tour at 4:30 pm. Admission $7.50 Adults, $8 Seniors & Students, $7, Children (6-12 years) $5 Family and Group rates available.

Concord's Colonial Inn Patriot's Day Activities

Take a history tour of Concord 's Colonial Inn, refreshments on the porch. Entertainment in the Forge lounge in the evening beginning at 8 pm.

Concord Museum 's Patriot's Day Activities

Free admission for all, sponsored by Comcast

Visit the Concord Museum - where Concord 's history begins. Attend a special performance by the U.S. Air Force Band of Liberty New England Winds, after the parade. Bring the family to enjoy an engaging Patriot's Day word hunt and discover the creative hands-on history activities and artifacts from the Museum's outstanding collection.

Candlelight Remembrance Ceremony

The North Bridge and The Old Manse

Luminary and song program honoring all those that fought at The North Bridge on April 19th, 1775. Approximately 600 luminaries on either side of the bridge represent those present at the battle. The program includes a performance and sing-a-long of historic and patriotic songs. Cross to the North Field of The Manse for refreshments afterwards. Please bring a flashlight.

Dawn Salute & Remembrance Ceremony

Buttrick Hillside, North Bridge, Concord, Minute Man National Historical Park

Concord Minutemen and the Concord Independent Battery fire their muskets and cannon as Samuel Prescott rides over the historic North Bridge on horseback. Remembrance ceremony follows at 7 am.

Tuesday, April 19th, 10:30 am

Arrival of the Sudbury Militia

North Bridge, Concord

Members of the Sudbury Militia and their families complete the 12-mile march from Sudbury in recreation of their historic march in April 1775.

Battle Road Heroes

Hartwell Tavern, Battle Road

Enter the world of 1775 and walk down a candle-lit path into the past. Along the way, encounter characters from the era who witnessed the events of April 19th, 1775 - Ephraim and Elizabeth Hartwell, Captain William Smith, British soldiers, musicians and drovers - a special evening of theater and history. Admission is $5 per person with proceeds to benefit the Minute Man National Park Association.
